You can help Cuts for a Cause succeed by encouraging your salon to participate! Here are some “Short Cuts,” or helpful tips when talking to your salon:

The worst a salon can say is no, so just ask! Getting a salon to participate is easy as 1-2-3!

1) Go to your favorite salon

2) Talk to the salon about why you support The Gathering Place, and explain Cuts for a Cause

3) Give the salon the “Participation Packet” and encourage them to participate

Answers to questions salons might have:

• 25% of each haircut is too much. Can we donate a smaller percentage?

By asking for a consistent percentage, regardless of how much a haircut costs, each salon is giving equitably. This concept is in line with The Gathering Place’s philosophy.

Because this is only the second time we have held this event, we welcome any feedback. If a salon does not want to donate 25%, please ask them to contact Laura Meixell at The Gathering Place.

• My salon is very interested in participating in Cuts for a Cause! In addition, we would like to send stylists to The Gathering Place to cut clients’ hair. Is that possible?
